Composting is an environmentally friendly way of converting your plant waste into valuable organic matter that can be used to improve soil fertility. There are plenty of books availble to explain how to get the most out of your compost bin, including the approximate ratios of materials to store and turn, which includes a mixture of woody material and soft waste such as vegatable waste.

There are many types of compost bin, which include a variety of off the shelf plastic bins through to double section wooden compost bins constructed for the size of your garden. The following pictures show a couple of examples that have been constructed for individual clients, both of which include spaced timber planking (treated) for air flow and removable access planks.
