Habitat and Countryside Management Profile

Sharp Environment works with voluntary organisations to deliver environmental conservation projects, which includes a number of different activities and practical skills. This includes a number of countryside management techniques that aim to protect / conserve wildlife and the natural habitat, including woodland, wetland and scrubland management.

The following provides a brief over view of some of the activities covered by this service (under construction);

  • Woodland - clearing and treatment of rhododendron to enable the habitat to be replanted with native species.
  • Wetland - clearance of vegetation i.e. treatment & clearing of willow from a wetland to maintain the habitat for wildlife.
  • Scrub control - Scrub clearance / control to improve habitats for the Fritillary butterfly.
  • Footpath maintenance - maintenance of footpaths and public rights of way.
  • Site furniture - implementation of site furniture, including hedges and fencing.
